What GONAL-f is used for In adult women, GONAL-f is used: to help release an egg from the ovary (ovulation) in women that cannot ovulate and that did not respond to treatment with a medicine called “clomiphene citrate”.

Is Gonal-F RFF effective in women with primary ovarian failure?
Gonal-f RFF is not effective in women with primary ovarian failure (when the ovaries are unable to produce an egg). Gonal-f RFF is also used in men to stimulate sperm production. This medicine is not effective in men with primary testicular failure (when the testicles are unable to produce sperm).
Does Gonal-F RFF induce ovulation in oligo-anovulatory infertile women?
In a multiple cycle (a maximum of three cycles), assessor-blind, multinational, multicenter, active-comparator trial versus a recombinant FSH comparator, a total of 83 oligo-anovulatory infertile women were randomized and underwent induction of ovulation with GONAL-F RFF.
